MDB Jobs Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 September 2026
Who we are
Multilateral Development Bank Jobs (MDB Jobs), at www.mdbjobs.com, is an independent newsletter operated by Rob Johnsen. This policy explains how we handle personal information for the newsletter, website and our LinkedIn eligibility-chart form. For privacy questions or requests, contact mdbjobs@geospatial.community.
Information we collect
When you submit our LinkedIn Lead Gen Form, we receive the first name, last name, email address and country/region you choose to share. LinkedIn may pre-fill these fields from your profile. We also retain the submission date and the form, ad and campaign identifiers needed to manage the request and measure the campaign.
When you subscribe, Substack provides us with subscriber information such as your email address, subscription status, signup source and engagement statistics. If you purchase a paid subscription, Substack and Stripe process the payment and provide subscription and transaction records. We do not receive your full card number through the LinkedIn form. We also receive information you send us when you contact us.
Our website uses Substack and Google Analytics. These services may collect technical and usage information, such as page visits, device/browser information, IP address and referral information, using cookies or similar technologies. Their own privacy notices explain their processing.
How we use information
We use your information to provide requested resources, manage your subscription, send the newsletter and related subscription communications you sign up for, answer enquiries, and process paid access where applicable.
The LinkedIn eligibility-chart form offers a chart download and signup for the free Monday jobs email. The confirmation page provides the download link immediately. We export submitted leads and import newsletter signups into Substack; newsletter delivery begins after import. Submitting the form does not purchase a paid subscription.
We compare campaign records with subscriber and paid-subscription records to understand whether advertising brings new subscribers. This includes deduplicating existing subscribers and measuring later paid subscriptions. We use subscriber contact lists in LinkedIn Matched Audiences to exclude existing subscribers from acquisition ads. We use aggregate country/region information to assess campaign reach.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for newsletter signup, performance of a contract for paid subscriptions, legitimate interests for proportionate administration, security and campaign measurement, and legal obligations for records we must retain. This policy does not itself constitute consent to non-essential tracking or advertising.
Who receives information
Authorised people and service providers helping operate MDB Jobs may process information for the purposes above. The services used include LinkedIn for lead collection and audience exclusions, Substack for publication and newsletter management, Stripe for payments, and Google Analytics for website measurement. We retain private exports for subscription administration and campaign analysis.
The eligibility form is a newsletter signup, not a job application. Submitting it does not send an application to a bank or employer. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.
These providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Their privacy notices describe their international processing and applicable transfer safeguards. You can contact us for information about transfers relevant to your data.
How long we keep information
We retain subscription information while needed to provide your subscription. Campaign and lead records are retained while needed to fulfil requests, verify imports and assess acquisition and subsequent subscription outcomes. When records are no longer needed for those purposes, we delete or anonymise them, subject to applicable recordkeeping obligations. Limited consent and unsubscribe records may be retained to respect your choices and address disputes. Payment records may need to be retained for tax and accounting requirements. Our providers also apply their own retention rules.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe using the link in our emails. You can also contact mdbjobs@geospatial.community to withdraw newsletter consent, object to direct marketing or ask us to stop using your information for audience matching. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. You may complain to your local data-protection authority. For information independently held by LinkedIn, Substack, Stripe or Google, you can also use their privacy controls and request procedures.
Providing information is voluntary. Without an email address, we cannot add you to the email newsletter. The chart is also available on our public nationality-requirements page. MDB Jobs does not use this form to make automated hiring or eligibility decisions about you.
